Description
Greetings, I'm Shawn and I'm an adult learning guitar using online lessons.
I'm here to document the entire journey - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the uglier.
Subscribe and watch the entire guitar learning process unfold as you can see the struggles, frustrations, gradual progress, strumming pattern troubles, small wins, and how I find ways to overcome this, that, and the other with my new six-stringed friend.
I'll be offering you my take on learning guitar - of course, everything will be from a beginner's perspective so this channel could be useful for you if you're also learning guitar, considering learning guitar, or already play guitar and just have a curious mind!
So... do subscribe and follow the journey of a beginner guitarist fumbling his way around a fretboard.
Words of encouragement and motivation are always welcome!

WELL DONE!! everybody has to start some where , but keep at it and dont give up even if you feel frustrated . i have learnt hell of a lot from various you tubers justin guitar, andy guitar, and james james, rick beato mary spender, marty swarz, etc they all have a little something different and that,s what makes learning guitar for me so fascinating after you,ve learned the basics you develop your own style we don,t have to sound all the same. you can put your own twist on a song

Nice. When you practice the E and A minor chords, do your best to just use your middle, ring, and pinky fingers. Do your best not to use your pointer finger. Eventually, you will learn Barre chords. Forming muscle memory using those three fingers will make it much more natural to do.

Hi Sean. Great progress. 1 big piece of advice, dont worry so much about the structured strumming patterns and metronome. All of the music is in the right hand, just relax that bad boy and do what feels good for the song, try and play the song in your head rather than backing track. New subscriber here to see how you progress, keep it up and you'll get good quick.

Great progress in just the last week. I noticed you’re looking at your strumming hand less and the strumming is becoming quite a bit more natural your hand and arm are moving more fluidly without jerky motions and you’re rotating your forearm properly on the upstrums.. also your touch on the strings is becoming softer and more natural.. you can also tell that you’re allowing yourself to feel the rhythm (your whole body moved with it)… this is something I’ve noticed many other beginners really struggle with. Great job and progress!

This is amazing dude! You're picking stuff up so quickly which shows you're a natural Obviously lots of things take time and will just click naturally but just keep doing what you're doing! Some cool songs I learnt early on where "Should I Stay or Should I Go" by The Clash, "Hey Joe" by Jimi Hendrix and "Summer of 69" by Bryan Adams.
