Edit: Evidently it does work but it takes a week or more within the game. I played for probably 10 or more hours (in real life) after doing this before getting the text. I expected it to be awhile, but it's actually an EXTREMELY LONG time before anything happens. Heads up to anyone else who might try it. It does work but do not expect it within a reasonable timeframe.
