so, when i recorded the original version of this goof of a track, i hadn't played ffviii outside of a couple of shortlived attempts at playing it as a kid (i didn't even make it to the first SEED mission). it was inspired solely by a weird attachment to the phrase "water and water and water water", the odd realization that said phrase maps perfectly to the way most songs in 5/4 are in groups of 3 and 2 beats per measure, and the silly truth that Don't Be Afraid is one of the first songs i think of when i think of 5/4.

If I am ever to die of dehydration, I want this song to play at my funeral to remind everyone to hydrate.
