sadly - hospital-borne infections still abound - Dr Peter Pronovost of Johns Hopkins has taken Ignaz Semmelweis' place on the issue of infections caused by catheters inserted into patients - Pronovost developed protocols that have proven themselves much as Semmelweis' had - only to be met with reticence by hospitals and doctors
