Thank you for doing this news segment. I have passed the info to all my friends a family. To think as to when I grew up, we just avoided the strange guy down the street. Now you have everyone to watch for.

This tip is really for those who are just now using a smartphone and/or Facebook. For the ones like me who have had a smartphone for a good while it does no good to mess with the gps settings because the pictures already taken and posted will have the location still attached

I really appreciate the way that they show you how exactly to do it, even if you didn't know how. Nice one. It's like: "Finding your next victim over the mobile phone FOR DUMMIES".

4) It doesn't take any crazy hacker software to look at this stuff. On windows just right-click the picture, go to Properties, and look at the Details tab. If the location info is present you'll see a GPS section. There's also this handy little link that says "Remove Properties and Personal Information" to strip all that good stuff. This also works with multiple pictures selected so you don't need to delete all of your favorite pictures.

I love the comments I'm reading. So many on my Facebook page are alarmed and freaking out like this story isn't dated and irrelevant.

Load Picasa on your computer... then let it catalog all your photos. Once done, click the red teardrop icon to filter (sort) only photos that have the embedded Geotag metadata. Select one or more of these photos and then click the map icon at bottom-right of Picasa and watch it MAP the locations of the selected photos. Right-click any of the map points to delete the Geotag from the selected photos.
