Have camera. Will travel.
My real name's David, but how freaking common is that?
Born in Melbourne but raised in Sydney, my filmmaking life began at 12 when I picked up my Dad's Super-8 camera and refused to put it down. I won a bunch of awards in film fests early on which made me decide the movie business was for me.
This gypsy existence has brought me friends spread from Australia to the USA to India to Europe, so wherever I park my car or camera is home. I'm paying the rent by doing corporate videos, shorts, and writing for magazines and TV, but grew up wanting to put another feature out there, and still do.
Come share the trip!

The Madurai owners's English is pretty good. The food looks authentic and delicious. Having been a college student from Madurai I identify with and appreciate this food. Next time I am in India I am going to try Orussoru. All the best to the management and the owner.

Hungriya! Yes I am now! :-) I like spicy flavorful food but I've only tried eating in an Indian restaurant once, so I'm not able to try all in their menu. But I enjoyed it because the owner was super friendly and he chats with every customer. Although, their business is still struggling here because there's not much Indian citizens going inside malls. Wow! You ate it with hands only. That's cool! We do that in the province too. :-) Everything looks delicious! Great vid David. I enjoyed it a lot. You're a great interviewer and host. Thumbs up!

Goddammit I miss Madurai food. Chennai food is also great but very different. Sitting here in Netherlands I am longing for home food so badly now :( The restaurant owner seems very knowledgeable, creative and a nice person. Glad to see someone from my town reach good heights! And kudos to you williams for bringing such food to light! I shall visit oru sorru when I visit chennai next time.

FINGER FOOD!!!! This is down my alley, as a mexican eating tacos and eating our main dish with "spoons" of corn tortilla(pieces of tortilla torn and used to scoop the food up), this should come natural to me,...hehehehe...lol...i had thought the vast majority of indians were vegetarian, i was wrong, so 70% north indians are vegan and 70% south indians are omnivores, eatin' their mutton, chicken, fish, etc. I learned something new today about this AWESOME Country,...thumbs up to ya good buddy!! =D

Not a great fan of Indian food but you did a good job with the interview and I must say that some of the dishes looked interesting as the camera roamed over them.

All too seldom a creative collaboration adds up to more than the sum of its parts. This piece cooked up at Oru Sorru Restaurant in Chennai with Shyam Madhavan Sarada is one of them. It just passed 30,000 views so a decent audience has come to the table too! I think you've probably seen it by now, but in case you're still hungry...
