My own grandmother was a “Katie Belle”. Her other “kids” loved her. I know many will criticize Skip and say this is pandering, but I have witnessed the love and respect between caregivers and the children they care for. These kids spend more time with the caregiver than their own parents.

She left him with a lifetime of knowledge by being a God sent mother. My mother did the same thing and these little children were attached to my mother as their own. Truly a God sent woman

Katie Bell sounds like Bettie Nelson my grandma! She worked for a white family and raised their children! They sat right with us at her funeral and may have cried more than we did! At that point I realized the impact my grandmother had on another family besides ours! Great story Skip!!!!!
