I got a whole set of Bear Grylls survival gear for free! I found it in the woods next to a couple human skeletons.

My son gave me one as a gift and I am absolutely loving. Great kit for camping and just about anything.

Ahhh... a good suggestion for Bear. A week in the Yukon with nothing but this kit. I like it. ~David

to anyone looking for a good muti-tool go check out all of leathermans knives they are a lot heavier duty than gerbers and in my opinion the best multi-tool all around you can buy. i now use the leatherman surge and its perfect for any project you do such as carpeting, any type of construction (i build custom subwoofer boxes), or any other do it yourself project.

I wish Gerber would have similar type products in their regular product line. I'm not a fan of the BG flashy gray and orange colors but the BG line is very practical and useful. Just my opinion though. Great review.

Hey... thanks for the comment. Interesting... I have not soaked the guide and left it... I'll have to test this... yeah, the ink should not come off like that. Thanks again. ~David

We have picked up things here and there... I spent some time in the Marines... have had a few adventures and spent some time as a teacher in a wilderness school. We are always learning. Grab the book... SAS Survival Guide by John Lofty Wiseman... its the BEST survival book by far... IMO Take care. ~David

Seems ok, but one thing I really hate, and don't understand; Why have a serrated edge on the knife, when you have a saw on the other side??

(Pt.3) It was a great plan, but with one big problem: I didn't have any tin snips in my tool kit, or anything else to cut up that coffee can! I did however have my Gerber MP400 Compact Multi-tool, and it has a pair of scissors on it. It was a bit hard on the thumb, but those little scissors cut up that coffee can just fine! We used the hose clamps to secure the coffee can patch to the header pipe & limped into Rawlins. I still have that little Gerber multi-tool, & the scissors still work.

What good is a saw blade that is 2 inches long and can cut thru a 1 inch stick that you can snap with your hands?

I will always stay away from anything that has the Bear Grylls name sadly if Gerber was smarter they would have gotten Les Stroud though I doubt he would put his name on something so cheaply made.
