the yamaha as 500 is a touch bassy, the speakers are hefty and get slightly bassier in time, the bass is magnified heavily when their closer than 20cm from a back wall, i have a cheap subwoofer but don't use it, thats how good the bass is, if you listen to the vid on half decent speaakers you can get a good impression of how deep the speakers are,

I own both these speakers and the amp but don't use them together. I use the speakers with my home cinema setup which sound fine. You really need to use bi wireable speakers to get the best out of this amp. I have tried with both and the difference is massive.

I have Tannoy V1 black and Yamaha AS500  black ;) as well. And sound is good but little bit to dark for me even though Yamaha is bright amlifier.

Maybe this is me, but they sound like rubber and don't give any space in sound. I tested mine with two different amps and gave them back.

You realy think you may pressent sound by tiny mic from smatphone or camera? Anyway, your room has to be prepared, couse sounds little like empty barrel.
