My aim on this channel is to share my love of folk music. My posts include original as well as traditional songs and covers of my favourite singer song-writers, such as Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie and Eric Bogle.
I have been singing folk songs for about 60 years, and play guitar (badly) and fiddle (even more badly).
I have produced 5 CDs:
Axis of Evil and other True Stories
Laws of Chance
Gospel Ship
Pigs Might Fly and other Politically Incorrect Ballads
Who Needs Reality? (with Lew Dite and Ukulele Katie)
I have also collaborated with Lew Dite on a CD of American folk songs simply called "Songs".

It's great that you're singing Minagkabau songs, from the island of west Sumatera. My mom enjoyed it very much, as our ancestors hailed from there.

.This one just popped up. on my recommendations This must have been at the cutting edge of you tube and certainly a big hit for you. Great performance and certainly adding to the Global village. I always appreciate these language songs as it is a weakness in my own abilities. In the UK it is hard to get on a Music degree without a Foreign Language. In 1978 there were only two Universities that would accept no Foreign language so I settled for B.Ed in Music at a College of Education as a way in to a Music Career.

I have lived in Singapore and Brunei and travelled a lot in Malaysia and Indonesia. I have always had an interest in Malay culture.
