As a retailer, the wholesalers aren't giving us any breaks. Any good deals are allocated. Ive been ordering online for just myself. And, shipping has been outrageous. No profit margin whatsoever. And, in FL, if I dont sell it, I still have to pay a use tax.

Just as the pandemic was winding down, there were several YouTubers saying, “Ammo prices are bound to come down, according to the properties of economics, they have to”

The manufacturers and retailers don't know their market.

As someone who works at Academy, I can tell y'all that our prices have the same percentage markup as we've always had. The distributors are the ones that have raised the prices.

FYI Academy Sports and Outdoors will do a price match. I save the website on my phone that has CCI Blazer brass 9mm 115 gr for $14.99. Academy not only matched the price of $14.99 (original Academy price was 19.99) but gave me an additional $0.75 off (5% of 14.99) so total was $14.24 plus sales tax.

The answer to this is simple….do not buy the overpriced ammo. Let it sit on the shelves and collect dust. The stores will have no choice but to lower their prices if they want customer’s money.

It always takes retailers a bit to figure out that people aren't going to buy their pricing schedule. The internet changed that significantly. When primers start coming back for reloaders, the price will start dropping on ammo. And primers are starting to show up more than in the last 12 months.

The online stores are regular stores selling online. There's no reason why local stores can't buy bulk and sell at more competitive prices. A dollar per round of 556 is absolutely rediculous. Never pay that. Don't support your local business when they don't support you

Thank you for spreading the word... Some of these retailers don't even like people who enjoy firearms... It's complete hypocrisy!!!

The bigger "Deer" hunting calibers are outrageous. Sad part is I keep buying a box here and there to keep building my stock pile

This same situation occurred when the last ammo shortage ended. Don't pay it! Prices will come down, just like they did last time. When it comes down in price...restock.
