@26:07 Aha. That was me. Goof job honeybear, I'm glad you accomplished your goal. I looked so silly with the long wrap not being tied up in a ball. Oh gosh, I soUND weird too.

My Grandparents lived in Ferguson at Elizabeth and Godfrey. Grew up watching the Wabash, then Norfolk and Western straining uphill from the creek, often stalling. Their engines shook the house at 33 Godfrey Ln. Oh how I wish I had a movie camera back then! I could see see the City of KC and City of St. Louis taking the passenger line (now light rail)down thru Cool Valley from their upstairs windows.

We used to play on that bridge back in the 70s and Ferguson Ave used to end right about here. The area to the left was all woods back in the day!

One person, either misses the Wabash blue, or just does not understand the beauty of this railroad like I do.

NS runs a lot of trains at night and early morning. I still come to the area when I go to my barber early on Saturday mornings. Every time I come past the Lucas and Hunt over past I look to see what color is the signal and pretty much every time its showing yellow for eastbound trains. A few Saturdays ago when I came past a westbound train was just crossing McLaran crossing. I loved the springtime when I would have my bedroom window open and could hear the horn being blown all through the night.

I actually had a grandfather, not MY grandfather, but my stepdad's grandfather who lived in Jennings, over on Hamilton by Goodfellow. He passed away in 2004 but every time I used to go to his house I would see the big freight trains going through. That was when the Ford Plant in Berkely was still operating and the line was more active than it is now.
