thankyou very much for advice. I agree on watching anything, even bad films. I'm actually getting into film directing, sfx is a hobby. It's good to see bad films to learn from their mistakes and also from their sfx.

I used after effects to stick this together :) the tripod is actually an image. but if i was to do this now i'd have it an animated 3d model tracked with boujou

That was wicked! If you would've put together alittle scene where you had people/actors pointing up at the alien and running, that would've really put the cherry on top of that footage.
