Somewhat experienced rhythm gamer here, from what I could see, that charts don't look terrible. A judgement system would add replayability to the game if you ever plan on expanding on it, tho!

hell yeah. the determination is actually wild. coding a entire rhythm game that works perfectly as a beginner is the most legendary shit you can do man, good stuff.

Big congrats! To make a playable game in one week is an amazing accomplishment. And, if given the choice, there's no shame in using the tools (language, libraries, etc) you are the most familiar and comfortable with. Keep pushing yourself to do stuff you're personally proud of and you'll get much farther than those who just put in the minimum effort.

Asking your teacher "hey can I work on this project at home" should be an instant yes in a situation like this. "hey I'm really enjoying this project you assigned us and want to give it my all and do the best job possible and go above and beyond on it" basically. This reminds me of my game dev class so hard. My game was the same way, 10x more effort than anyone else because I really enjoyed making it and went all out on it. Even put in easter eggs and an interactive tutorial. My teacher kept it as an example for future classes, and I was pleased with the reception it had.

I’m over here, struggling to do the animation in blender using the method you thought would look terrible, but with custom pixel art, for a theoretical rhythm game, with the college assignment due date being today (Friday), and I be seeing you absolutely killing it with an actual rhythm game.
