Thank you so much for the kind words! I hope the front panniers work out for you. I'm a professional tinkerer and like to mod and adjust inexpensive items to meet my needs. As you may have suspected I am born and raised Yankee... Rhode Island. Left at 18 and did 20 yrs in the Air Force until I landed in Williamsburg VA where I still live with my family.

@karanUltimate Thanks for stopping by! I'm still riding my Giant. This mirror should fit on any standard bar end... it's adjustable for different diameters.

I was getting thoroughly demoralized reading about touring set-ups realizing that if I looked too much at them I was NEVER going to go touring as I'd never be able to afford to do so. I have done a bit just using my MTB with a rear rack and a pair of panniers. You have given me some good ideas as to how to improve my set-up without spending loads of money.

That's great! Some would say I'm "cheap" but I call it "value minded while being reasonably prepared". May the winds be at your back my friend!

@vedranre I agree... the stronger the wheel the better. These 32's are what I have and I'm pretty easy on them. The suspension also helps preserve the wheels a bit. For some reason these stock rims are fairly strong and have held up fine after thousands of miles. I will get better wheels in the future.
