This man fought in a war using a musket and he lived to be recorded in color. The changes in technology over the past couple centuries truly show the incredible potential of the human mind.

He was in the Civil War and lived to see supersonic jets, TV, Phones, Cars, Air Conditioning, Electric Guitars, First computers, Atomic bombs, Tanks, and all these other awesome things they would of never imagined!

Wow the technological advances within this guy's lifetime: Cars, planes, jet engines, lights, batteries, radios, tvs, machine guns, the atomic bomb, refrigeration, central heating, and the list goes on...

It's interesting to note that the Union veteran's organization he was a part of, the Grand Army of the Republic (the GAR on his cap), ceased to exist when he died because he was obviously the last member.

How must it feel? To be the last of a generation. To know that all those who were born with you are long gone and it just you left. Must be strange to know out of all those that would be born around you...you would be the "Fin" of a generation.

You can see his emotion in knowing he is the last of his generation. Living in a time that is hard to comprehend.

This guy saw some shit, he was in the civil war, he witnessed ww1, he was in the Great Depression, he witnessed ww2. He’s one of those people who would be really interesting to sit down and talk with. God rest this brave mans soul.

Amazing footage. Its unbelievable that this footage exists. This man helped create what USA is today. This veteran is beyond important, he is immortal. I wonder what it was like for him to go from being in the Civil War to living all the way into an era of electricity, TV, phones, radio, ect...

A very moving portrait of a kind and humble man. Imagine living through, seeing and experiencing what he did. It's beyond comprehension. God bless and keep him.
