Atypical behavior on some zombies would've made the show a lot more tense.

The original director preffered these intelligent zombies however after season one he was fired. Its just a mistake within the series as robert kirkman believed in the slow paced walkers we see today.

Now they have returned on season 11

Damn they should have kept it in the show and make every newly infected victim faster and smarter zombie. Not only it will be more awesome and entertaining but it would also solve some logical errors from the season 1

This is my theory: as the show went on, the virus mutated to be more energy efficient (as all living creatures do), but to do that, it didnt use the brains prior memory/cognitive ability to its benefit.

Smart walkers confirmed fron the new trailer lol so bashing rock walker and climbing walker is legit. (Also Morgan's wife opening the door lol)

So for those that don't know, or just haven't watches the series after some point, this wasn't retconned. Later in the series we see the return of Intelligently Walkers, we see them climbing walls and all that.

I miss when zombies were actual threats and not some "evil" mercenary guy

I really like the idea that some zombies are more intelligent than others it could have added a whole new threat.. ive only watched up to season 6 ive seen people talk about variants or something in the newer seasons so i might be wrong now but yeah i really wish we got to see so called smart zombies.

It is already not easy to climb a portal for us, a living human being, and there a bag of dead bones succeed without any problem.
