Thank you!! I spent two hours on the phone with assurion last night they couldn't figure it out and said I had to pay them another $100 and send the computer in. I did the power off you recommended and when it came back on I pushed the F6 and my screen came back on!!! Thank you so much!!

6:59 - BIOS is an acronym for "Basic Input Output System". Basically, computers have a small hardcoded (in a chip) Operating System that knows how to turn on, and communicate with, and configure the hardware of a computer. Once the BIOS boots up, it hands over control to the real Operating System (Windows/Linux/whatever). The BIOS is generally stored on a CMOS chip. So sometimes people will call it the CMOS. Clearing the CMOS is the same as resetting the BIOS, which brings the BIOS back to default factory settings.

BTW: Since then I had my computer go dead & it turned out to be the power cord. But, the back was removed and a big chunk of dog hair & dust was plugging up the fan! So, go ahead and pull off your computer back and clean it out!
