I'm just about to hatch my triops, I can't wait!!

You need a good source of light and the water temperature around 22 C. The lamp provides this, but natural daylight and an aquarium heater will do very well. During the warmer summer months, a heater probebly won't be neccessary, but it's very important to keep an eye on the water temperature (especially at night when it cools). Some Triop species are more hardy than others.

@montelturtle £10 per bag of 50 + eggs. Also included is the gravel/detritus for helping the hatchlings during the first few days of life.

cool!! Want to get some for christmas now!

Currently it's just based on Youtube, but there will be a website soon. I have quite a farm going on private premises and can supply as many as you need. Other species of Triops will become available for purchase soon, so please keep checking back.

@minecraftgod12 Actually I am in the process of writing a dedicated page on Triops and offering them for sale in a section to be entitled 'Fossil Fun'. ;-)

@minecraftgod12 They are indeed Longicaudatus, but I also have the much larger (twice the size at 4.5 inches) Cancriformis.

It's a type of very fine marine sand, which happens to be almost black. This helps to see the newly hatched pale Triops against the darker background. The sand doesn't cloud the water as much as other types, so ideal for Triops. Unfortunately I cannot recall where I got it, but shouldn't be difficult to track down.

I love prehistoric animals

I have those packets of eggs available. Each pack contains many more eggs than any shop (5 times + more), so you'd be getting a good deal. :-)
PrehistoricProjects (17 hours ago)
@HelpTheGuy Will film them as soon as I get myself a decent camera! ;-)

Many retailers sell just a few eggs per kit, compared to my kit of 50 + eggs. With this many eggs, there's plenty of room for error.
