I think part of the reason your infantry list is doing a weird amount of damage is due to the fact that 1. Because primary is so focused on being in the centerline of the board your opponents couldn't afford to hide from your army very much, so they end up in rapid fire and bayonet range more than you'd expect, combined with the fact that your guys don't properly die due to feel no pains, number of bodies, and reinforcements, so over 5 turns your firepower doesn't diminish nearly as much as your opponent's firepower. But that's just like, my opinion man. What do you think?

I think the thing with Blast is that most armies, especially in this meta, aren't going to want to take Blast weapons in the volume needed to really make a dent in a list like this. Same with like Flamers. Most armies won't take take enough to do the job, because they're either focused on big targets, or they're trying to take all comers. Few people will specifically gear themselves to combating hordes. At least, not unless hordes become the new meta, which I don't think will happen for a while yet.

My favourite thing was saying I'm a chaos space marine player, but then showing up with just wave after wave of cultists. Nobody ever expects it

1:00:00 THAT FUCKING HAPPENED TO ME! I had a Knight Castellan down to 1 Wound and had it charge into a squad of 5 Ad Mech. They overwatched, rolled one hit with their pistols, one wound, I failed the save, used a stratagem to reroll, FAILED AGAIN, AND FUCKING DIED!!! Because of the way VP’s worked, that one move lost me that game, and is why I came in 3rd in that tournament rather than 2nd (Ad Mech guy came in 2nd). Fucking hell…

New viewer here, still fresh to warhammer ttrpg, but been a lore fan for ages. Just wanted to say that I think it’s awesome how you settled the first match. It’s apparent you care for the love of the game and not just winning. You could have pulled a win, but instead you agreed to a tie. It’s nice to see a win, but even nicer to see someone with dignity and respect for others. Definitely got my sub my friend!

Makes sense that pure infantry would do well - the current meta is so jammed with monsters and vehicles that people just dont bring enough anti infantry
