I've had my Asus 17.3 560M GTX, 8GB, 2x 500GB 7200rpm hdd, and i7 based laptop for 6 months now and it's been reliable and performs without a hiccup. It maxes out WoW on ultra settings, It can play Old republic but on Medium/high settings. I picked mine up from best buy for 800 dollars(Open Box), it was the show model that they were replacing with a newer Model. It plays Skyrim on High(not the highest or Ultra). Overall, It's an awesome laptop. I highly recommend it.

The Best Buy Asus G74 gives the most bang for the bucks in the gaming market. I'm trading up from a BB G73 to an AW M17x but I don't have too many complaints about the G73.

I was deciding the same thing. I'm getting the ASUS G53SW-A1. Just under $1100.

@39213cooper that's great advice, unless your looking for a strong mobile gaming solution. that would be my only reason to get one of these powerful laptops.

i only have one laptop, and its mny first laptop. asus g53 sw, 6bg 1333 mhz ram, i7 2630qm, nvidia gtx460m, 1080p 15.6 inch screen. i love it. runs basically anythign i throw at it. plus when i set PhysX to process on my cpu, massive framerate boost. solid performance, and other good stuff.

@ugmfVideos if they both perform great, and price not being a problem for me, the only thing left to rule out is features and looks, so a maxed out m17x r3 is better imo

Mostly it depends on the graphic card when you want to buy a gaming laptop. Better graphic card = better performance. I think AW M14X comes with Nvidea 650M while ASUS has Nvidea 580M which means ASUS is better than AW in GPU. However awesome materials used in AW which made it a premium gaming laptop.
