Why did you need a general anaesthetic rather than just a local. I'm a nurse in the uk and have never seen someone go to theatre for something so little. You could get it done by your GP here at their surgery.

I thought this was a joke. What ever happened to a good ol' sharp pocket knife. Last one I had -- took it out with a seam ripper. Think you've had way too much soybean oil.

They put you through all that just to pull a splinter? The monitors, gown, and all that... Thats redic. LoL... You could of went to a walk in clinic they would of used local for pain, then plucked it out. This place has you looking like you are ready for heart surgery ...
