I love how different both versions sound:

So everyone is actively aware, yes, the actresses sang live on set, HOWEVER, the audio is not raw, live singing, is it not only the audio from the shoot, it is a frankensteined mix of live, studio, and vocal corrections, this does not make it less impressive but i think its important

one thing I noticed about the OG is that it felt satisfying like she was happy she is and will be free. but one thing I love about the movie is that the whole song sounded betrayed, hurt, missing, and a lot more. it felt more real.

I like how in the OG, the crowd says "Get her!" but in the movie they say "Kill her!"

I love Idina as she is the OG. But my god Cynthia brought the pain to the character, and tears to my eyes

“SO IF YOU CARE TO FIND ME, LOOK TO THE WESTERN SKY” is so amazing that I get chills every time I hear it, she did an amazing job.

He said, "Alright Cynthia. Don't hurt 'em." My thoughts every time I hear her sing.

The way Cynthia sings the “I can’t want it anymore” makes me cry. Her “I can’t” is softer than Idina’s, like she’s resigned to what’s about to happen to her, still scared, but she is giving up the hope that this can go any differently.

This is legitimately one of the greatest endings to any movie I’ve ever seen. The execution is just the biggest, loudest, most magical thing I’ve experienced screen. I’d highly recommend the movie JUST for that final pay off.

"So if you care to find me... look to the western sky" THE ENTIRE THEATRE WAS THUNDERSTRUCK. We were ashes trying to comprehend lightning!

As soon as Ariana said “why couldn’t you stay calm for once” the entire audience was silent because we knew what was coming. Both times everyone was so focused. I seriously think that scene is one of the best scenes I’ve ever seen in any movie ever. The emotions, the cinematography, the music, the vocals!!!

Cynthia’s “changed” was so gentle, yet so powerful and soulful. Cynthia and Ariana did GREAT job in the movie.

Unbelievable movie version. You can’t help but be emotionally overwhelmed. A masterpiece.

also, what makes this 1000x more impressive is this was recorded live and she was singing defying gravity while doing the flying stunts for the movie
