To add on to stamina management: Always make sure you have enough stamina to roll away after attacking. You don't want to blow all of your stamina attacking then have none left to block or dodge your enemies' next attack.

For me, one of the best tips is reading the goddamn item description. He was talking about the embers in the last one, and said that it would be good to look at the wiki to learn which Blacksmith could handle each ember, but their item description is enough for you to know, unless you still don't know all the blacksmiths.

A tip I would give is: Make sure to take orange guidance messages into account, they usually give pretty good tips.
