Loved watching these commercials during the Apollo space flights.

Thanks for tracking down and posting the original commercial (or at least one that includes the Gulf livery).  I was amazed to find that so many commenters make exactly the same associations as I do with this ad: the Apollo missions, NBC News, endless hours in front of the TV.  This commercial belongs right up there with "I'd Like to Buy the World a Coke" and "I Can't Believe I Ate the Whole Thing!"
