Bonnie Tyler certainly had an impressive collection of RC planes to capture all this footage!

I grew up in St. Louis in the 50’s and 60’s and watched these guys being flight tested on a daily basis. I never realized how badass this beautiful killer was until I got to Vietnam.

Proof that if you strap enough horsepower to it, you can make a brick fly. I love the F-4

The big difference between Marine F4s and all other F4s was that the Marine pilot went through Infantry training, just like I did in Marine Infantry. We spoke and understood the same commands. The biggest thing though was that he knew and totally believed he only had one job: to keep me on the ground alive at any cost. They did unbelievable things to accomplish that goal. It is still the same to this day. They are simply the finest pilots in the in the world and always have been.

I come from a Navy/Marine Corp family and I grew up loving the Phantom. Still a masterpiece of USN AirPower. Fly Navy!

I was in an A-4 squadron in the 60s. The Phantoms on our bird farm carried a heavier ordnance load than an A-4's max gross takeoff weight. Color me impressed.

Thank you "Little Angels." I was always so glad to see you. I made it home from Vietnam because of you. Thank you as well God.

The phantom was a hero when we needed one .

My own small debt to F-4 Phantoms comes from the fact that the arrival of a bunch of them in Port Stanley, Falkland Islands, enabled me to get home for Christmas in 1982.

Most beautiful man-made master piece ever to grace the skies.

I enjoy watching this every so often. The music was wasted on a crap TV show but fits here perfectly.

I was stationed at NAS Miramar and there was nothing like watching the Phantom’s roll down the runway at night with afterburners on. The ground literally vibrated.
