hey hows she running now? did the screen and it helped a little... but im thinking of getting a echo gt2000 muffler (no cat) and doing this mod. also how many turns out total did you set the high screw? modded 2 of my echo chainsaws, but this is my 1st echo trimmer.

the 266 does have plugs in the high/low screws in case that hasn't been already talked about. They are deep in the brass holes and you use a heated up drill bit to pop them out.

I'll have to look for that oil at Walmart. Is that bought on-line? Never saw it at our store. I used the supertech blue oil.

I have the same weed eater all the other ones I have are 225 and I spend this one on recon at home Home Depot so I picked it up I'm getting ready to adjust the high-end on the carburetor but I noticed that it doesn't have a very good top-end speed is that why you did the muffler deal

What type of oil do you use?? Mine bogged, and no top end. Needed repair. Shop said lots carbon buildup. Said Red Armor is good oil for that. Any experience with that? Thx

I got a free echo Srm 2501 weedeater replaced the fuel lines and Recoil spring , throttle cable but for some reason I’ve noticed it’s get very hot very quick at the recoil and right where my arm sits I’ve never had this problem before so any thoughts

With an echo srm-520 or a stihl fs 460 you wouldn't have these problems. Yours is just a toy...
