Honestly, the demogorgon being removed from the store helped his aesthetic. He’s an “unidentified killer from the abyss.” New players don’t know who he is. He’s a monstrous plant shaped like a person that screams constantly and has so many rows of teeth it’s not even funny. So the face at the end actually sort of makes sense if you were a new player, you’d be like “WHAT IS THAT.”
