I have used detergent and fabric softener.......with good results. I bet Dawn is a better surfactant will try it.

Used 3/4 cup of Calgon and Dawn for overnight soaking. Added 7 lb. bag of ice for the drive to the dump station. Maybe a couple of gallons of from black water drained out after my last dump. Now my sensors register clean! This method works great.

Thumbs up. Thanks for the tips. I always look for second, third and fourth opinions. You are spot on adding those two chemicals. Pinesol can be used instead of dish soap. The calgon makes everything slippery and soap or pinesol is a deodorant. The key ingredient is lots of water. Experts say ice only adds extra water, which is key.
