I don't see it as it being written as the character in the song becoming Bisexual. I believe he was jealous of the new man in his former lover's life and wished that he could be him.

Looking at his lyrics in written form, it seems like Prince keep a poetic journal. Since he could play instruments and sing, he just turned them into songs. The first lines of Nothing Compares To You sounds like something you write in your personal journal to help you deal with your pain.

This is my absolute favorite Prince song.

When You Were Mine is my favorite song on Dirty Mind, and definitely a Top 3 Prince song for me, hands down!
