The way Pilar's death was handled really set the tone. It tells the viewer "any one of these characters can and will die unexpectedly, such is the world of Cyperpunk". You can't expecting anything else. Was an amazing anime. The last episode made me feel like I couldn't breathe.

I was expecting that the crew would be killed. This is cyberpunk, happy endings aren’t something to expect in this series. Still broke my heart seeing everyone get killed regardless.

For me, Rebecca's was the most unexpected. When Pilar died, I predicted the crew would all die. I thought that, but genuinely thought Rebecca would live at the end, or at least go out in a big "final boss battle" gunfight. It was a final boss, but I didn't expect her to get (Adam) smashed to death.

I knew something was going to happen but did not expect everyone to die that fast. Was eecting at least another season b4 someone dies, but hey its Night City.

Honestly Julio’s death (the recruit after the timeskip) was most unexpected. For Pilar I saw it coming from a mile away given how much focus was being put on him out of the blue, since the camera always put him in the background before. Julio was unexpected cuz the mission was over. It’s weird that there’s another trap 2 feet from where they killed the previous fights

I loved the series. Just wish it were 12 or 13 eps. Pilar, Maine, and the crew could’ve done with a lil more screen time

When I start an anime I usually sit through the opening and closing sequences (for both the first and the last episodes)… the final shot in the opening sequence actually foreshadows David’s death.
