I see a lot of negative comments here where I actually learned some pretty useful tools from this vid. It may be a bit fast paced, but my pause button for the vid works too. Thanks for putting this vid together!

I had no idea you could just type the menu number you wanted. This is life changing for me. Thanks Mike!

Thank you. For something so simple, for some of us, it's not so simple. But what is nice is that programming the Baofeng radios is consistent and once the light is lit, simple to do. Thanks for flipping the switch to on. AD6AE

Dude, I'm delighted that you made this content available, it is very helpful, but you FLY through things, and if you're trying to follow along, it's very difficult to do what you say. By the time we've done it, you're already two steps ahead. If you find it convenient to do this instruction again, please count for at least 1 to 2 seconds between each instruction so that we can follow along. Thanks!

Fire, wheel and UV5R. Those are most important milestones in human history.

I bought two of these with the extended batteries, thinking that I was going to be able to use these but this is something I do not have time to learn lol wow I had no idea how difficult ham radios were

A step that seems to be skipped by many is that you need to be in VFO mode not Memory mode. If the frequency has a number next to it you need to hit the orange VFO/MR button and then you can type in frequencies.

I just watched this again to check my notes because in the field, I will not have a laptop with CHIRP in my kit. You are an excellent presenter and well-organized instructor. Dave - AD6AE..
All said and done it’s a nightmare. I have to write everything down step by step because you’re moving so fast for us reg folks. TY

Figured it out. Baofeng has their own programming software for the K6! Went to their support site, downloaded and installed it (Windows did not trust it, but I did it any way). I was able to read the radio. Interestingly, the card that came with the programming cable, said to use Chirp.

When i type in 146.520 it end up cancelling and resets the frequency. Any idea whats stopping me?

Just for reference everyone: I got a small UV5RPlus. ***When saving into the memory bank and you press menu (enter) to save, dont hit the exit button, . just save, and let it go to the main screen on its own after five seconds of wait time, If you hit the exit button with the UV5R Plus, for whatever reason, it wont save the channel, causing a minor hickup in your learning for this tutorial. Great tutorial though.
