Kenny Wharram is my grandpa and I’ve watched this on repeat so many times I can’t even count anymore. He’s the icing on the fucking cake. He’s the scooter line. He’s the lady byng trophy. He’s my papa. He’s the man who brought me timbits every Sunday, the man who gave everything he had left to give a smile on his dying days to me and my sister. He’s a Stanley cup champion. I love you Papa ️

I was only eleven at the time, but that game was one of the highlights of my life. I'd forgotten some of the details- like how I felt when "Tex" Evans scored that fourth goal.

It was one of the few times in Stanley Cup history that the third and fourth place teams played in the Finals.

The play-by-play man was Bill Hewitt, Foster's son. This is a tape from the "Hockey Night in Canada" broadcast on CBC.

The game was also broadcast on WGN TV that night. I believe it was Joe Wilson doing the play by play with Lloyd Petit moving down below. After the game Lloyd was in the locker room. For some reason I did not have school the next morning and got to watch the post game again. I know the game was on a Sunday night.

Hard to imagine that with all of the talent on those Chicago teams in the sixties to mid- seventies that they didn't win another Cup in that era.
