I love citric acid. I rinse my fruit and veg in it and they stay fresh longer, including berries. And the best part is that I can wash my kitchen and bathroom with the rinsing liquid afterwards. I also fixed my rusted cast iron grill pan with it when nothing else would get rid of the rust. But dissolving an entire layer of iron off the pan with citric acid paste worked wonders together with a scrubber, and it was ready to be reseasoned. Strength of the solution is everything.
