Midnight Mass doesn’t even get 10% of the love it deserves, I’m just going to say it.

I try not to get too sycophantic about any creators/celebrities bc we don’t really know them, but with Mike Flanagan I can’t help but just adore him. I can’t think of a currently working filmmaker whose art I connect with more. Truly one of a kind, I’m so lucky to be alive during the Flanagan period of horror. Watching this giggling and kicking my feet!

The realization on his face when the connection was made there. Wow!

I can't believe Mike Flanagan directed absentia. When he said he made his first indie film called that it hit me like a ton of bricks, I watched it as a kid and never realized who the director was till now!

I could listen to him talk about his craft and his influences for hours, close tie between him and Del Toro. One of my favourite horror doc contributors, too.

This podcast popped up because of Mike Flanagan and his work is so good in horror, it goes to the human condition and is written, directed, and acted very well. Hope there is more coming out.

Jesus, this man is a treasure. I cannot wait to see what all he comes up with in the future. It is rare I enjoy everything a director makes but so far, all solid releases.

Such a great conversion!! Loved how the questions really got you all talking about the thought process that goes into such great shows and movies like Flanagan's work.

Really enjoyed this one! Mike is such a cool, down to earth guy. It's insane how consistently enjoyable everything he makes is, and I love how he seamlessly blends horror with heavy emotional beats without diluting the effectiveness of either one. Gerald's Game and Doctor Sleep (especially the director's cut) were both incredible, and I can't wait to see what he does with The Life of Chuck.

You gotta bring this podcast up more often on Dead Meat, James. Should be way more subs (I'm sure it'll grow exponentially in the near future regardless though). Some great episodes. I love Mike Flanagan.
