Canam Missing Project
Description
CanAm Missing is a group of retired police officers, search and rescue experts (SAR) and other professionals that are dedicated to researching, on scene investigating and generally understanding the issues associated with people who go missing in the wilds of North America. This has typically been a project that is intensely worked by search and rescue teams starting when the victim is reported lost and usually continuing for the following 7-14 days, the case then flounders in a file cabinet. After years of reading thousands of SAR reports, speaking with dozens of victims, we believe the paradigm of this effort needs change.
Law enforcement and the media usually do not publicize concerns of kidnapping or abduction when the missing can be explained through traditional means. There are too many of these cases to ignore and there is a consistency to the stories.

There was an amazing story somewhere else here posted on YT. The man was with a group of mountain bikers (sorry I forget where) but he was biking quite far ahead of his friends going down a mountain trail. He got to a point where he dismounted for some reason or another. He reported hearing strange noises and all of the sudden he began to feel extremely hot from the inside. He said that it felt like he was in a trance-like state and he began to take his pants and shoes off to cool down. Suddenly his friend appeared over the trail and began yelling at him asking what he was doing? He said at that point he snapped out of it, put his clothes back on and continued biking down the trail. He and his biking friends were baffled at what happened and he had no explanation, drove home in silence. I think if his friend would not have appeared at that instant, he would have vanished as well.

If I were missing this is the dude I'd want to be looking for me! Paulides is as tenacious as he is analytical, truly an exemplary human being!

I love how the cameraman focuses on a squirrel for a moment. That was sweet.

How come he could lose his trail and end up where his body was found ? I don't think he did that by himself. WHAT I FIND SO SCARY IS THAT WHEN SOMEBODY GETS SEPARATED FROM A GROUP, even to walk ahead on the same trail, even to hide behind a bush like little boy DENNIS MARTIN did, that person is seized by something, someone, and the body found under strange circumstances, or never found.

The fact that helicopters didn't see tracks is enough to draw attention to the fact that something ain't right! As if that wasn't enough, add the fact he didn't use his phone! Again, WHERE ARE HIS BOOTS!! When I take my children to the woods for hikes we do things differently since I've read the books. Mr Paulides, thank you for making everyone aware and I am honestly scared!!

Curious, autopsy, most of my backwood adventures start with a hardy meal with friends and a pack full of trail mix or other energy sustaining snacks. What were the contents of the stomach and bowel. How well digested, did he eat any energy snacks to tackle obstacles. Important clues as to how long he had lived after his disappearance. The damn boot or foot wear thing. What was the condition of his feet, were the bottoms lacerated? I know you and your team are thorough, it's just so intriguing.

Wait he had a working phone on him? that thing is valuable evidence if you could access its location history it could provide valuable insight as to what happens during these disappearances.

I lived across the street from his parents and every so often they would throw a little block party for their close neighbors. So I've met James a few times . He was a very down to earth kind of guy. Very approachable and nice, Just like the rest of his family.

Condolences to this man's family. The confusion of what happened to their loved one must've been extremely tough to deal with. <3 May they find peace.
