Thank you Felipe for that information. You're are absolutely correct, Chichen Itza is really two cities, one more Mayan, and most of the rest Toltec. I love that part of the world, Mexico, Guatemala, etc. and consider it one of the great cradles of civilization.

And yes, I have a degree in anthropology. I've been all over the Mayan world. This movie is typical of Gibson - racist, shallow in its portrayal of this culture, and full of inaccuracies. Human sacrifice was not common in the Mayan world, and it was certainly not as bloody as Rome.
