People are forgeting that the caterpillar in terms of concept is gonna have a detachable cockpit, it will become its own small spaceship, Its gonna have tractor beams, All those doors are gonna be elevators for cargo and stuff, And its also gonna use its detachable cockpit for Search and rescue missions as the devs have said this.

Versatility? What versatility? The Cat can't even pick up ground vehicles. What good is rating ships based on future ideas when we don't even know how those will pan out. Right now the Cat is in a bad place because CIG is neglecting it with the nebulous justification of adding modules in the future. Just make the ship work

I upgraded my Cat to a C2. I went for the bulk cargo hauling on the Herc, which at over 690, makes those trade runs a little more lucrative (and potentially costly if I lose the cargo).

Great review. It's very subjective of course, but to me Cat is king. Will never be dethroned. special mention to the Carrack which is the only 100m+ ship to be also very modular. But Cat also has pilot controlled weapons, which will come in very handy when the command module will be detachable.

I havent seen any cargo in my C2 so far, any of you guys familiar with that "bug"?
