You don't need to beat the #1 record to progress... Once you get your broom upgrade, you will beat 1:32 easily.

I have done the first two trials so far with minimum required upgrades and beat the 1st place time

I'm currently falling behind by less than a second in first two trials. I guess it's cutting the corners that will close the gap.

I was trying to complete it on playstation and it's just impossible because controlling is so ass. I can't even move properly because camera constantly moves from left to right when I try to move up and down...

My issue was that few times, when I did go through the ring close to edge like this, game actually counted it as missing a ring and smacked +3s per ring to my time. Pesky bugger..

So there's no way to avoid the opponent getting ahead at the start? I thought I was doing something wrong...
