Why does listening to the East German national anthem feel so peaceful and want to cry? It's very great.

I'm an Afghan, and Afghanistan under communism along with Soviet backing had a promising future until the West interfered and ruined everything. Afghanistan under communism was a million times better than both the Taliban regime and the Western-backed "democratic" regime. And of course, the West twists the story by calling it a "Soviet invasion" - the same accusation the West made on Russia's involvement in Syria and Ukraine. As an Afghan, even though the Soviets lost in the end, I still appreciate them for helping to defend my country from U.S/Western imperialism.

The anthem of the GDR is really indescribably beautiful both the melody and the lyrics.

I actually feel the hope and the striving in these anthems. Great work, comrade.

The Bulgarian and Czechoslovak anthems are both really good! There's just something appealing about dramatic communist music.
