I'm a Ugandan living in the U.S. I agree with everything you said. I subscribed to your channel because I like your mindset. I have lived in different countries in Africa and Europe. I respect the locals of whichever country I have lived in and live in. She needs to respect the locals.

Good to hear from AAs who can call out Art Cathey's bullshit. For me personally, I was even more offended by the throngs of AAs on her channel commenting that she is correct and saying the truth, etc, even though those AAs have never stepped foot on the continent!!!

When you have democracy, it also comes with freedom of speech... Sometimes constructive criticism is hard to swallow, but gives you something to ponder on! The westerners has spoken soft words to africa for centuries and africa is still like a baby drinking milk... Africa is a lion and should start behaving as such!

I am not defending Art Cathey but it is by watching her vlog that I learned about the disgusting sex tourism industry in the Gambia where Europeans prey on the poverty of the local Gambian to exploit them sexually. So she helped to shine a light on this, which I think is a good thing. We can't fix anything by pretending that the problem doesn't exist. I don't want to compare with any other country, I am just talking about Gambia.

In the Philippines, it was illegal, as a foreigner on a tourist visa, to involve myself with any government type issues. We weren’t even allowed to volunteer for anything. We were expected to stay in our own lane. Keep a low profile. Coming from America, I wasn’t used to keeping my mouth shut. But I did it, because I had to. During my stay, I had a new realization, that griping about things didn’t change anything. As I stopped griping about things, I saw and became amused by other people’s ranting and raving, realizing they were all wasting their time. I believe our time is valuable and I hate seeing people waste it accomplishing nothing, but if that’s what they choose to do with their time, that’s on them. I’m glad I was able to see through it all.
