With your wonderful instructions I will do this. No longer have a yard but a deck. Depended on rainfall most as I live in N Florida with heavy chlorine and fluoride in our tap water. With self watering I won't need our awful water much. Thank you for your efforts and engineering skills.

I cutout the lid to use as the false bottom, Home Depot buckets. I use a Solo cup, with slots so water gets into wicking cup. I don't use landscape cloth.

I've seen alot of wicking systems and this looks like a good way to do it. I like the large cup with coir in the center. Might have to try this method
