fascinating. anyone else notice how in the T-64/T-80 the previous charge casing is returned into the carousel, while the T-72/T-90 straight up ejects the casing?

Speaking of ammo storage safety, these tanks were designed for fighting in the field and massive attacks, and according to the statistics dating back to a Soviet mass attack doctrine, most of the shells would hit the turret, not the hull, as most of the hull would be naturally hidden behind the landscape. These tanks like any other tanks were not built for fighting in cramped spaced such as towns and cities. For mass production you have to rely on general assumptions. And the general assumption back then was... Tanks are fighting on the open fields...

Lots of tank experts here. Thank the lord.

Nice it's 3 AM and I am watching tank reload mechanism

I knew there are many comments joking about "turret-ejection". Technically the issue is not about auto-loader but the storage of the ammo. Newer T-90MS moved its ammo from under seat to the rear of the turret with same safe panel design like Western Tank but still keep the auto-loader system.

Without sounds I can still hear the loading mechanism :)
tsmartin (52 minutes ago)
So that's how the turret ejection system works.
TineFangaming (2 hour ago)
T-80 quicker by load shell and powder bag altogether

Прекрасно. А ещё бы хорошо увидеть ролик как работает конвейерный автомат заряжания AMX-56 Leclerc. Интересную систему французы придумали.

Holy shit T72 lore?
deven6518 (21 hours ago)
I do feel that a massive metal carousel around the outside would make good protection. It'd slow down a resupply but it has its benefits
kurvitaschthedictator (8 hours ago)
This explains why Russian tanks seem to have their turrets fly off, the ammunition is literally surrounding the turret basket

I can now identify the vehicle from the interior operations now. Because i will 100% be in these vehicles in the future, I choose to learn some boring unusable stuff
