Description
Hi, I'm Jane and I garden in SW Wales, UK.

Welcome to my channel! I garden in zone 8/9 in a temperate South Wales, UK climate.
My gardens include a south facing cottage garden along with a north facing hardy tropical back garden. I garden on a budget and grow from seed, along with shopping with savings in mind, on a no dig method along with keeping a wormery for vermiculture / feeing the garden.

A large focus of my gardening experience is improving my mental health, using my gardens as a tool and sanctuary.

Thank you for following my journey, please consider subscribing to be kept up to date of content I upload.

Take care,
Jane

Lovely to see Winter gardening as we anticipate another 12” of snow in the next couple hours added to our already frozen, snow-covered gardens here in Michigan, USA! . Monty Don would be proud of you! Enjoy your lovely slice of Nature ️

You have made such a good start! You will have it cleared in no time! Good idea to set an alarm for school pick up as we do lose track of time on the allotment!

A flask will soon turn into a small camping cooker and kettle take your time, theres no need to rush. Just enjoy the journey

Jane you look absolutely thrilled. It is lovely and sunny there which makes it much nicer to work. The sun here is shinning and oh crap it’s minus 13c right now. But there’s always someone to watch on YouTube in the house with blankets and the dog . Have an awesome weekend and happy gardening ‍, Ali

I love that fork thing. I inherited my dad’s and use it a lot. You are a fast worker. Congrats on your new allotment.

Honestly, I'd bag up all those weeds and take them to the tip. If your compost pile doesn't get hot enough, the seeds or roots themselves can survive and you end up spreading weeds whenever you use the compost. As a rule, I never put any weeds in the compost. When I first got my plot, I used compost from a pile I inherited and went from no bindweed to being infested with the stuff.

You’re going the right way Jane glad to see you having a cuppa and admiring your plot

I think thats the best way to do it, little but often. no point getting knackered doing it all in a day. I need to get my self a flask like that to enjoy a brew down at the plot.

Hi Jane, new subscriber here. I recognised you from your other channel. I have an allotment in Cardiff so will follow your gardening with interest. That's a good looking community site you have there, good luck

what a great idea toset up a compost bin on a bed. Imay try the same as it can help with quick clearing during the harvest season when we are so busy

I would maybe pop the compost bin on the corner of your bed. You said its not staying as takes too much space, but think of the pay off - you'll get free compost for the bed... I think in the corner, might be better. Also, you got to think about access. Once that beds full of crops, you might not be able to get to it that easily if its in centre... Just a suggestion. Love that space. You've done well. Excited to follow to see what happens over the season
