Getting a fully loaded A320 stopped in 2800’ without catching the brakes on fire might be a bit of a challenge. Video would have been funnier than hell if 280 people had gone leaping out of the doors with chutes and selfie sticks.

Funny thing is those Taylorcrafts are amazing gliders. The military used to take the engines out and use them to train glider pilots. He had an airport he could have easily landed at. But we all know his scam.

Perfect landing!! It's actually pretty exciting to watch the whole maneuver.

I'm guessing you had to glide back and land, because the flight sim wouldn't let you open the window and jump out?

Trevor has so royally screwed himself. I've seen so many satires, parodies and MSFS recreations of his stunt... he is never gonna live this down.

Best glide for an A320 NEO is said to be 17:1 clean. I cannot find the figures for a Taylorcraft but an Auster V, built by the same company and not dissimilar claims 9:1. While Jacob may not have been able to make the airport he could definitely have made a suitable landing area. The Taylorcraft was designed to operate out of unprepared fields. Even at 9:1 that equates to over 17 miles from 10,000ft in still air. Depending on the exact location he was around 20 miles from the airport.

For a minute I was expecting to see the side door open and the pilot jump out.

Well, you did start with an altitude advantage, but nice job on a short runway! And no parachute required.

I can't believe he made it to the airport. Wished you had talked about what you were doing also. Good job on the safe landing.

Well done. How about a "we can't do it, we're gonna be in the valley" scenario landing for a big bird?!

I totally thought you were going to go for the full Sully and land in the lake.
