Nice to listen to your talk about the painting experience and practices. I thing that what makes a painting is as limitless as what makes a life ..... but for me the most important tool is “deep experience” maybe that is an experience that moves body-heart-soul ... maybe that is an emotional process - and curiosity and courage to share experience of life - I love nature too and I love to look with all senses - moving, feeling, touching, spelling, listening, viewing with your whole body.

This is the first time I’ve watched your podcast but have been listening for some time. Must admit I’d imagined you with a big beard for some reason Carl! Can’t believe this doesn’t have more views, great podcast.

With the pan pastels, the sponge or brush you use can make it seem like a watercolour. And with most pastels, you can use water and/or alcohol to turn the pastel liquid. And you can get grounds that can handle wet pastels - some cannot handle getting wet.
