in my humble opinion the use of a pick when playing bass adds clarity and top end to the tone. this makes every note (that this dude flawlessly plays) very defined. also IMHO certain songs don't sound right when played with a pick and some don't sound right played with your fingers.

Nice job! I use a pick most of the time too, mainly for clarity and accuracy. Don't let keyboard/bedroom critics tell you how to do it, play it how it works for you dude.

Yeah man totally. I met Alex Webster and he is a huge inspiration on me. Even he says a bass player should play the way they feel more comfortable. But yet people still cry and moan if someone uses a pick. lol
