Description
Adyashanti (“primordial peace”) is an American-born spiritual teacher. He has taught throughout the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia. He is the author of 11 books. Born Stephen Gray in 1962, he became interested in enlightenment at the age of 19.

At 20, he began studying Zen Buddhism with Arvis Joen Justi, whose teacher was Taizan Maezumi Roshi. Adyashanti also attended retreats with Jakusho Kwong Roshi (a disciple of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi).

At 25, while meditating one day, Adyashanti felt what he has described as “an incredible onrush of energy.” This was his first awakening, followed by an inner voice that urged him to “Keep going.” At 31 Adyashanti had another profound awakening. Arvis Justi then asked him to start teaching.

In 2000, a US nonprofit, Open Gate Sangha, Inc., was established to make available the teachings of Adyashanti to all those who sincerely yearn for peace and freedom.

Adyashanti lives in the Eastern Sierras with his wife, Mukti, also a spiritual teacher.

Another priceless meditation beloved Adyashanti. There are people who try to charge money for "special"meditations that'll "get you there" and they don't have a fraction of your depth of compassion and perception.

Dear Adya, thank you for your guiding and to help me listen to the divine stilness in me. Your spoken words but especially your silences give an harmonius flow where I can sink into...not drowning, not wanting...just sinking into the depth of my being.

Wow thank you so much... such a deep meditation where I lost a sense of any little self and felt as though I was breathing in the Universe, with love for everything... ending in a sense of self love I’ve never experienced before. Thank you

That was beautiful. It felt like Adya was reaching his hand up from stillness and taking me there with him. I like to meditate with my eyes open so the slow panning around the landscape worked wonders for me. Thank you x

I really Love it. It is very easy to let go with your guidance. Your voice is supersoft. Thank you very very much

Lying down with intense stomach pain from eating too fast, I had several moments where I felt heaviness in my body. Even with this physical sensation within, I could ease into the meditation. It was a feeling of shifting from the body, sort of dissolving but at the same time letting it be. A timeless, formless space that contained nothing but everything, there was no difference. Unity. Pure endlessness.

Sometimes, it's the words you don't say that communicate the most. If silence is the language of god, then you are a poet.

You have so much material. Being able to listen to it all on Spotify would be amazing.

I felt really frightened after this. First I felt like I was small and big at the same time, and I started expanding until it disappeared, there was a body, but no mind, or at least a mind that was separate from me. At this point it started feeling like I was going to die so I had to open my eyes.
