Thank you! You would think finding an answer to this simple question on google would be easy, but no instead the search winds up taking me places regarding "Does my laptop charge faster while off?" or "Does my phone charge at all when off?" So, again, thank you for not only answering my question of whether or not a phone WILL charge if the laptop is not active but also how to configure it to do just that.

fuck this shit . you can use all kind of laptop to charge your phone . just put your fucking laptop on sleep mode and all your USB ports will have power
