Depends on Water conditions, Wind, Amount of gear in the boat and weight distribution. It can vary greatly with a small outboard.

I have a Mercury 5hp Sail Power and I do 6 knots with my 23ft sailboat that weighs probably close to 1000 lb overall. I love it! Always been very reliable but I also maintained it dilligently.

17 mph steady with a 5 HP 1 person on a 12 foot Jon boat is amazing, I've got a 1436 and a 5.4 Evinrude zephyr, I plan on setting it up about like that, if I get anywhere near 14ish with me (200 lbs) I'll be happy

I get 21.5 mph with my 9.9 73 Johnson and just over 7mpg, 12mph and almost 20mpg with my 03 Briggs &Stratton. I use booth on my 1036 Johnboat. Love the 4-stroke.

Considering my Minn Kota 50ft.lb trolling motor's top speed is 4mph on perfectly calm waters... This is a rocket engine in comparison!

Dude that´s amazing fast! in my zodiak boat with a 15 hp johnson 1956 luckyly I reach 23 mph. Simply amazing!
